Check Cashing USA has launched a fundraiser at all 44 South Florida locations. The campaign, which runs through Apr. 30, will serve to commemorate National Autism Awareness Month.

The fundraiser partners Check Cashing USA’s customers and associates to raise money in support of the Dan Marino Foundation, with its mission “Empowering individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.”

For more than 26 years, the Dan Marino Foundation has worked to create unique and impactful initiatives in the community. Among these first-of-their-kind initiatives are the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Outpatient Center, the Marino Autism Research Institute, Marino Adapted Aquatics, Summer STEPS Employment Programs, Virtual Interactive Training Agent Program (ViTA-DMF), and now post-secondary programs at Marino Campus Broward located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and Marino Campus Miami-Dade located at Florida International University’s (FIU) Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC).

At Marino Campus, class instruction, combined with real-world work experience, prepares students in obtaining nationally recognized industry certifications in Hospitality and Computer Technology.

As a result of the generosity of customers and associates, Check Cashing USA has distributed over $100,000 in donations to more than 20 charities across the South Florida footprint. Customers may choose to participate by asking the cashier to add a $1, $3 or $5 contribution to their bill. The Dan Marino Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, has partnered with Check Cashing USA to create a successful community impact.

“We are honored to partner with Check Cashing USA,” said Mary Partin, CEO of the Dan Marino Foundation.

“Check Cashing USA’s determination and commitment to this fundraiser will help further the mission of our foundation, as well as promote autism awareness and inclusion,” Partin added.

“We are very proud to partner with the Dan Marino Foundation. My nephew, who is autistic, inspired me to want to make a difference for him and others like him,” said, Brian Socolow, chief operating officer at Check Cashing USA. “When I read the foundation’s mission statement, it touched my heart, and I knew this was the right organization for us to work with.

“The foundation has been around for almost the same number of years we have and serving the same communities we serve. We are very excited to get our in-store fundraiser started. We also look forward to growing our partnership, and the community collaborations it will forge,” Socolow said.
